Jersey Boys @ The Prince Edward Theatre, London, Friday 7th May 2010

As a surprise birthday pressie from my bro in law and family (bless ‘em) I got a couple of ‘best seats in the house’ tickets to see the Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons musical, Jersey Boys. “Frankie who?” asked some people I’ve spoken to over the last few days. Well, for the uninitiated, Frankie was (and still 76 he’s still going strong) one of the biggest selling singers in the US with a bucket load of classic singles under his belt. ‘Oh What a Night’, ‘Working My Way Back to You’, ‘Beggin’, ‘Big Girls Don’t Cry’, ‘Walk Like a Man’, ‘Grease’...the list goes on and on. The show itself includes all of these (okay, not ‘Grease’ but that’s bugger all to do with the Four Seasons) and a whole bunch more, in fact it’s a non-stop hit fest with an incredible cast (the guy who plays Frankie has really nailed his falsetto voice). Highly recommended.
